The operatives of Niger State police have nabbed about 259 suspects.
The offences for which they have been arrested include kidnapping, culpable homicide, banditry and other criminal offences.
Items recovered from the suspects include one Dane gun, two local-made pistols with three live cartridges and three local-made single barrel guns.

The crimes were committed in 25 local government areas of the state as explained by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Kuryas.
Those 259 criminal suspects were arrested in the month of August.
As 81 out of the 259 are yet to be charged pending their trial, 119 suspects have been charged.

The remaining 59 still under investigation at the CIB (Criminal Investigation Bureau).
Kuryas explicated that the command dealt with the stronghold of bandits, (banditry in Ma’undu village of Mariga.
He also noted the direction to strengthen security architecture in the 25 respective areas of supervision to bridle the activities of bandits and other criminal elements.
Kuryas however, requested the backing and cooperation of the generality of the public by giving them vital information that could contribute to capturing miscreants in their midst.
He assuredly added that they were at alert to face any person or group of miscreants sabotaging the peaceful nature the State was known for.
