Nigeria’s early dominance paid off in the 20th minute when Ademola Lookman bent a fine finish into the corner after a sharp cutback from Akor Adams.

Just five minutes later, the lead was doubled. A flowing midfield move led by Alex Iwobi released Lookman, whose low cross took a slight deflection before Osimhen reacted quickest to turn the ball home.

Mozambique, appearing in the knockout stage for the first time, struggled badly against Nigeria’s pace and movement, offering little resistance as the Super Eagles controlled possession.

Osimhen struck again shortly after the restart, tapping in at the back post from Lookman’s teasing delivery, making it 3-0 and effectively ending the contest.

The rout was completed in the 75th minute when Akor Adams capped an impressive performance by drilling home Nigeria’s fourth following more clever work from Lookman.

“Nigeria won 4-0 and never looked in danger.”

The Super Eagles could have added more goals but eased off late on, turning their focus to the quarter-finals.

Nigeria will now face Algeria or DR Congo in Saturday’s quarter-final clash in Marrakech.
