Nigeria Edge Closer To 2022 FIFA Under 20 Women’s World Cup After Convincing Win Against Cameroon

Nigeria women’s U-20 football team have progressed to the final round of the African qualifiers for FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

The Falconets as nicknamed annihilated Cameroon U-20 women following a 3-0 victory at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja on Saturday, 5th.

Nigeria’s Esther Onyenezide and Precious Vincent led the team to the outstanding victory.

Christopher Danjuma’s citizens will then be in a battle with Senegal who edged Morocco on penalties.

Meanwhile, Nigeria had held down the Indomitable Lionesses to a goalless draw in the First leg.

In the second leg however, the Falconets showed them the stuff they were made of as they scored double before the break only to have crowned it with one more goal in the second half.

Esther opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Vincent stretched the lead with a goal eight minutes before the end of the first half.

Esther completely extinguished their counterpart’s hopes as she scored again in the 72nd minute.
