Organ Harvesting: Sonia Ekweremadu Missing as Father, and Mother Appear in Court

Nigeria’s former deputy senate president and his wife appeared in a London court on Tuesday ahead of their trial for organ harvesting, but his accused daughter was unable to attend as she is in hospital.

Ike Ekweremadu, 60, appeared at the Old Bailey court wearing a grey tracksuit top, speaking only to say “Yes, miss” when asked to confirm his name.

He is accused along with his wife Beatrice, daughter Sonia and a doctor of bringing a 21-year-old man from Nigeria to have his kidney removed.

Alhassan Bawu, the Bauchi State campaign director of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Bawu’s defection was followed by other officials of the party in the North-East.

2023: Ondo Bans Distribution Of Educational Campaign Materials In Schools

The Ondo State Government has placed a ban on the distribution of educational materials in public schools by individuals and Non-Governmental Organisations, especially for political motives across the state.

2023: Varsities Should Allow Students To Vote –Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has asked that students in all universities should be allowed to vote in the forthcoming election.

He started this on Tuesday during a meeting with observers from the European Union, Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM).

According to him, there were over three million Nigerian students who are eligible to vote in the forthcoming presidential election.
