Nigeria Oscars Committee Adds Five New Members for 2025 Awards

The Nigeria Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) has announced five new members ahead of the 97th edition of the annual awards, scheduled for March 2, 2025.

In a statement, NOSC leader Stephanie Linus revealed the new members: Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation, Ali Nuhu; film producer, Blessing Egbe; journalist and film critic, Victor Akande; Group Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas, Kene Okwuosa; and actress, Ijeoma Agu.

These additions will join returning members, including Stephanie Linus, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Victor Okhai, Andy Amenechi, Yibo Koko, Izu Ojukwu, Dimeji Ajibola, Emem Isong, Jude Idada, Meg Otanwa, and John Njamah.

The Nigeria Oscars committee highlighted that the diverse creative backgrounds of the new members would enhance the process of selecting the best film from Nigeria.
