  • FG is set to learn power generation and transmission from Egypt, which has been described as a role model in the sector.

  • The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, met with the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mohammed Fouad, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in energy expansion.

    The partnership aims to improve Nigeria’s energy sector, particularly in rural electrification and renewable energy, with Egypt sharing its expertise and best practices.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed its desire to learn from Egypt’s expertise in power generation and transmission, describing the country as a role model in the sector.

This was made known during a recent meeting between the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mohammed Fouad.

Adelabu commended Egypt’s achievements in the energy sector, stating, “Egypt has made remarkable strides in energy transformation, and we are eager to collaborate and learn from your expertise. Our goal is to ensure reliable, stable, and affordable energy access for all Nigerians.”

He also highlighted Nigeria’s efforts to connect remote rural areas to power through renewable energy initiatives.

Fouad expressed Egypt’s enthusiasm for collaborating with Nigeria, particularly in closing the metering gap and sharing best practices in energy access.

He emphasised the shared goals and mutual benefits of strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations, saying, “Nigeria and Egypt have much in common, and there is immense potential for collaboration in the energy sector. We are committed to working together to achieve sustainable energy solutions for both countries.”

FG, States, LGs Share ₦1.678trn February Revenue as FAAC Meets

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of ₦1.678 trillion, representing the February 2025 Federation Account Revenue, to the Federal, State, and Local Governments.

The revenue was distributed at the March 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja, which was chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun.
