Nigerian Artists Miss Out on BRIT Awards, Raye Sets Record with Six Wins

Brit Awards

Nigeria’s drought at the prestigious Brit Awards continues as Burna Boy, Asake, and Rema miss out on accolades at this year’s ceremony held at London’s 02 Arena on Saturday night.

Despite nominations in the Best International Act of the Year category, Burna Boy and Asake fell short to American sensation SZA. Similarly, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ lost the Best International Song of the Year to Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers.’

However, Rema concluded the event with a captivating performance of his hit track, ‘Calm Down,’ becoming only the second African artist to grace the BRIT awards stage after Burna Boy in 2019.
