Nigerian fashion designer breaks Guinness Record, claims back longest sewing marathon from Indian Gunta.

The event which happened in Ijebu Ode lasted for 4 days from January 22 till January 26, 2024.
Ogun fashion designer, Kuforiji Oluwaseun has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest sewing marathon.
The Nigerian designed who sewed non-stop for an impressive 106 hours, 55 minutes, and 20 seconds, started his ‘sew-a-thon’ from January 22 to January 26, 2024, in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Oluwaseun claimed the Guinness crown from Amenta Gunta, an Indian who sewed nonstop for 50 hours in 2018.
The Nigerian designer showcased exceptional skill and endurance, as he made eighteen (18) outfits including Dashiki, Kimonos, Long Gowns and others with hands using only a needle and thread.
It is worth noting that within the first six hours, Oluwaseun completed a full Agbada outfit, which underscored his speed and precision.

The Guinness Record Holder is the founder of Koil Creations, a fashion brand that reflects his dedication to craftsmanship. As a graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijebu-Ode, Oluwaseun’s achievement not only reflects a personal commitment to excellence but also shines a spotlight on Nigeria’s fashion industry.
Speaking to Newsman upon receiving his official Guinness World Record certificate and plaque, Oluwaseun expressed profound gratitude to his supporters, stating, “This victory is for Ogun State, for Nigeria, and for every young creative out there. It proves that hard work, passion, and perseverance can take us to the global stage.”
Oluwaseun like other Nigerians with the international award has just etched his name in the annals of fashion history. His accomplishment serves as an inspiration to every designer and artisan.
It also proves that with dedication resilience, and focus, global recognition is attainable.
