The Nigerian Embassy in Berlin, Germany, has sacked a security officer, Martins Adedeji Oni, for allegedly demanding sexual favours in return for help to renew a passport.
Oni’s employment contract was terminated following allegations of sexual misconduct and corruption levelled against him, as stated in a statement released by the embassy on Tuesday, December 8.
The statement also stated that Mr Oni and other witnesses were interviewed by a committee as part of thorough examination of the serious charges.

According to the statement, Mr Oni was found culpable of all the levelled charges and in violation of all relevant codes.
The statement reads in part;
“Mr. Oni was suspended from duty on 17 November after reports emerged that he had curried sexual favours in return for help with the renewal of a passport. The Embassy immediately established an Investigation Committee to examine the allegations and any related issues, and to make recommendations for action.”
