Nigerian Govt Commences Verification and Payment of Pensioners

Jigawa State Government has begun confirmation of all pensioners under the State’s payroll.

The Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme Board, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa announced this while inclining the pensioners in Dutse.

He said that the activity which started on February 2, 2022, was not intended to persecute or witch-chase any retired person in the State.

The Executive Secretary said the activity was created toward keeping up with an up-to-date payroll framework that had been cut out for pensioners beyond three years and also helped them to fill in the missing information on their compensation slips.

He instructed members of pensioners Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, Local Government councils, and Local Education Authorities to help out in the exercise to achieve the set goals.

Also, he said the pensioners are accepted to visit their different local Government Secretariat.

Conforming to this, the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Jigawa State Chapter, Alhaji Umar Sani Babura has vowed to give all positive support and participation needed to achieve the ideal objectives.

In the end, the scheme dispensed the sum of N9.403 billion naira and above to 2,146 retired people as an annuity and different benefits in 2021.
