Nigerian Islamic Singer Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso Passes Away

Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, a renowned Islamic singer from Nigeria, has sadly passed away. The news of her death was confirmed on Tuesday morning by an Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, through his official Facebook page.

Additionally, Jubril Gawat, a media aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, also expressed his condolences. He shared a brief message on X, formerly known as Twitter, quoting a verse from the Quran:

“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return,” referencing Quran chapter 2, verse 156.

Rukayat Gawat was widely admired for her beautiful and melodious voice, which deeply touched the hearts of many within the Muslim community. Her music had a significant impact, and she was well-loved by her audience.

As of now, specific details surrounding the circumstances of her death have not yet been revealed.
