The Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) in India has arrested a 44-year-old Nigerian man in possession of about 16 kilograms of MDMA and 500 grams of cocaine.

Valued at $2.8 million, the drug seizure reportedly stands out as one of the most notable in the city.

The suspect, residing in Bengaluru on a business visa for a year, had leased a residence in Ramamurthynagar.

Investigations suggest his involvement in an extensive drug network that spans neighboring states.

It was said that the illicit substances were carefully concealed within various items, including parcels, chocolate boxes, soap covers, bedsheets, and garments.

The unnamed Nigerian suspect allegedly stockpiled a substantial quantity of drugs in preparation for New Year parties in the city.

The police further detained the landlord for failing to report the tenant.

Bengaluru police recently introduced a mobile app to assist PG owners, lodge proprietors, and landlords in voluntarily uploading tenant and guest details.
