The Nigeria Police, through INTERPOL NCB Abuja, have successfully extradited Abubakar Aboki Muhammed, a Nigerian fugitive, from the United Arab Emirates to face prosecution in Nigeria.
According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Muhammed was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice issued by NCB Abuja following a thorough investigation into allegations of Obtaining Money by False Pretence, Forgery, and Money Laundering.
The case began in July 2023 when an Abuja-based international businessman reported being defrauded by Muhammed, who posed as a shipping agent.

After gaining the complainant’s trust, Muhammed received full payment via a third-party account at FCMB linked to Anas Usaini, a Kano resident. The account was allegedly used for laundering the funds in Dubai. Muhammed then issued a forged bill of lading for the vehicles and became unreachable.
He was arrested in Dubai on April 15, 2025, and has now been extradited to Nigeria to stand trial at the Federal High Court.
The Nigeria Police praised the cooperation of Dubai Police, INTERPOL NCB Abu Dhabi, and the Nigerian Consulate General in Dubai for their crucial role in securing the extradition.
