Streaming platform Netflix has increased its subscription fees in Nigeria for the first time in 2025, marking the third price hike in less than a year.
According to updates available on the company’s official website, the new pricing structure sees the Premium plan jump from ₦7,000 to ₦8,500, while the Standard plan rises from ₦5,500 to ₦6,500. The Basic plan now costs ₦4,000, up from ₦3,500, and the Mobile plan has gone up to ₦2,500 from its previous ₦2,200.
The latest increase follows earlier hikes in April and July 2024, making this the third adjustment within a 12-month period.

The move comes amid widespread economic hardship in Nigeria, where citizens are grappling with rising living costs, a weakening naira, and soaring inflation rates.
Other entertainment and communication services have also recently raised their prices. In March 2025, MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, implemented a price review that saw the DStv Compact bouquet rise from ₦15,700 to ₦19,000, while the Compact Plus package increased to ₦30,000 from ₦25,000. The Premium plan also surged from ₦37,000 to ₦44,500.
GOtv packages were similarly affected, with Jinja now at ₦3,900, Jolli at ₦5,800, Max at ₦8,500, Supa at ₦11,400, and Supa Plus at ₦16,800.
EFCC Arrests Three in Akwa Ibom For Alleged Internet Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of three individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the arrests were carried out during a sting operation conducted by operatives of the EFCC’s Uyo Zonal Directorate.
