A Nigerian woman on pilgrimage has been lauded, after returning missing money to its owner.
The woman, identified as Hajiya Zainab was said to have found the money, the sum of $5000, which is equivalent to ₦8,240,000 in Nigerian naira and returned it to its Russian owner.

Zainab reportedly found the money in Masjidul Haram in Makkah on Tuesday, May 27.
Confirming the incident, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, (NAHCON) and Plateau State Pilgrims Board, Hon. Daiyabu Dauda said;
“She demonstrated exceptional integrity and honesty by returning $5,000 she found in Masjidul Haram to its rightful owner. That’s a remarkable act of kindness,”
The body also announced plans and ongoing discussions of the Saudi Arabia authorities over the reopening of visa issuance for intending pilgrims.
Also confirming the incident and the Visa discussion, the assistant director of information and publications, Fatima Sanda Usara said the discussions might turn out positive, as other countries are also pressuring the Saudi Arabia authorities.
“There is optimism for a positive outcome, and when that is realised, the Commission will immediately transport the registered pilgrims for the Hajj in another special arrangement,” she said.
