Speaking during an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, Oshiomhole said the changes were a clear sign that President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms are yielding results.

“There are Nigerians now who are saying food is becoming too cheap,” Oshiomhole said.

He explained that the issue of food prices has become a point of debate, even among members of the opposition. According to him, some critics of the government now believe the president is deliberately forcing prices down.

“I even heard some opposition member saying the president is manipulating food prices to crash. So they are angry that the food prices are down,” he added.

When asked what President Tinubu would present as his achievement ahead of the next election, Oshiomhole said the progress recorded in the economy would speak for itself.

He also defended the president’s tax reform laws, describing them as fair and people-focused.

“The facts on the ground show that President Tinubu’s tax policy is consistent with the values of a progressive government,” Oshiomhole said.

According to him, the policy ensures that wealthy Nigerians pay more taxes, while low-income earners are protected.

“This is a progressive tax policy that places a higher burden on those who earn more while offering tax exemptions to those who earn less,” he stated.
