Kwara state governor, Abdulraman Abdulrasaq has urged Nigerians to be united in the fight against insecurity and poverty.

The governor stated this at the closing ceremony of ‘2 Division Inter-brigade Corporals and below’ competition, held at the Sobi barracks in Ilorin, the Kwara capital, on Friday.

The governor said terrorism and poverty are “our common enemies”, and urged Nigerians to support security agencies in their commitment to fostering peace in the country.

“The security agencies, particularly the military, will continue to symbolise the unity of the people and the strength of the Nigerian state,” he said.

“Everything must be done to continue to keep the Nigerian state united, stronger and more successful.

“Our diversity should be deployed to maximum advantage, while we join hands to fight our common enemies.”
