Nigerians Rage as Netflix Mocks Redesigned Naira Notes

Some Nigerians on Twitter have raged on movie streaming platform, Netflix after it shared a seemingly satirical post about the redesigned Naira.

The newly-redesigned Naira following its unveiling on Wednesday had been bashed by some Nigerians, adding that merely a coloured filtered version of the old notes.

Thereafter, Netflix also went on and shared two versions of their logo in a now-deleted post with the caption, “If we decide to change our logo. Old, New.”

This, however, the post seemed not to sit well with Nigerians as slammed the international company for its disrespect.

Taiwo Ajakaye said:

Lol, the Sorosoke handler of #NetflixNaija deleted the tweet already. No work ethics, no capacity to restrain emotion and focus more on what matters. At the end of the day, they will blame stepmother for losing their jobs. No need to delete it o!”

Daisy Eff retweeted the offending post and said:

This is very disrespectful #netflix, #NetflixNaija. Dropping my subscription immediately.”

Okoye Chivita said:

It’s a shame #netflix would allow it’s handle #NetflixNaija to be turned into a political tool. Does that not even breach their own policy?”

Omechekoleya said:

I sincerely hope who ever made that tweet is held liable. Idiots are with the loudest voice. #NetflixNaija, you people did wrong and I hope as a company you do right, apologize to Nigeria and Nigerians and fire the idiot that made that offensive post.”

Sam Roks said:

“I won’t renew my #NetflixNaija subscription when it expires this month. This is very insulting and condescending.”
