In the first leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying tie in Bamako, Nigeria’s Flamingos settled for a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Bankole Olowookere’s team took the lead courtesy of a goal from Chidi Harmony ten minutes into the second half, only for Rainata Oubda to equalize for the home team five minutes before the final whistle.
The two teams are set to face off again in the second leg next Saturday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, where the overall winners will advance to the final round of qualifiers.

Nigeria Flamingos secured third place in the previous edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India. The upcoming edition of the competition will be hosted by the Dominican Republic.
