Nigeria’s Super Falcons beat Botswana 1–0 to reach the WAFCON quarter-finals and lead Group A.

Thanks to this win, Nigeria’s Super Falcons lock in at least $200,000 (around ₦305 million) from CAF’s new prize scheme; a semi-final spot adds $150,000, finishing as runners-up brings $500,000, and lifting the trophy would earn them a record $1 million.

CAF’s revamped payouts mean every quarter-finalist walks away richer – third-place teams get $150,000, and even bottom-placed sides pocket $125,000.

Those funds will go straight into better facilities, improved player welfare, and sustainable growth for Nigerian women’s football.

Now that they’ve qualified, the Falcons face Algeria on Sunday.

A win will keep their perfect record intact and fuel their $1 million ambition, while reinforcing their status as Africa’s top women’s side.
