In a statement issued on Thursday, the NJC’s Deputy Director of Information, Mrs Kemi Babalola-Ogedengbe, said the transmission of the names was delayed due to pending security reports on the candidates.
She explained that the Council acted only after receiving security clearance, noting that no adverse findings were recorded against any of the nominees.
“Having received the security report with no adverse comments on the recommended candidates, the Council on Thursday, January 22, 2026, forwarded the names to Mr President,” she said.
According to the statement, the 14 nominees include the incumbent Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, Suleiman Amida Hassan.
