NLC Considers Suspending Nationwide Strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress has given in indication of suspending its planned nationwide strike action.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the industrial action of the NLC and other Organized Labour partners was scheduled to commence on Wednesday, August 2.

NLC Secretary, Emma Ugbaja gave the indication while addressing newsmen at the end of the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Ugbaja argued that though the measures listed by President Bola Tinubu during Monday’s nationwide broadcast were welcoming, they were not far-reaching enough.

He however said the Labour team would go back to the bodies they represent to consort to achieve consensus on the next line of action.
