Nigeria holds a significant advantage, thanks to their exceptional goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who played a crucial role in their journey to the Round of 16 by demonstrating a disciplined defensive strategy throughout the group stage.

At just 22 years old, Nnadozie’s rise to prominence has been remarkable. 

Her outstanding goalkeeping skills and commanding presence have earned her recognition as the best women’s goalkeeper in Africa and one of the best globally.

Nnadozie’s journey began with Rivers Angels in 2016, and she later joined Paris FC, showcasing her talent on the international stage. 

She made her mark during the 2018 U-20 Women’s World Cup and continued to excel at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.

During the ongoing Women’s World Cup 2023, Nnadozie captained the Falcons in their opening game against Canada, where her exceptional saves earned her the Player of The Match award.

Gradually becoming a spot-kick expert, Nnadozie has saved crucial penalties in the past, and her goalkeeping prowess will be critical against England’s strong forward line.
