NNPC Speaks on Plans to Hike Fuel Price

NNPC Speaks on Plans to Hike Fuel Price | Daily Report Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has categorically stated that it has no intention of raising the cost of Premium Motor Spirits (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

NNPC made the statement in a press release signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye.

In it, the NNPCL urged Nigerians to avoid panic buying of petrol.

The above follows concerns raised by oil marketers about potential scarcity.

There was reappearance of long queues at filling stations in Lagos State has caused traffic congestion, but the NNPCL remains committed to ensuring a steady supply of fuel.

However, the NNPCL assured the public that there is ample availability of PMS across the country.

The statement read:

NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.

“Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying, as there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.”
