The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has once again spoken out over plans to increase the pump price of petrol.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the NNPC, through a statement on Friday, denied reports in several quarters of am impending increase in petrol price.
According to the NNPC, it values customers’ patronage and does not intend to increase its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump prices.
“Our retail stations sell the best quality products at the most affordable prices,” the statement said.

In a tweet via its official X account, the NNPC posted;
“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
“Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide.”

Recall that NNPC has increased pump price of petroleum products twice since announcement of subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu on May 29.
The removal of fuel subsidy led to an increase in the cost of other commodities, with the organised labour threatening multiple unfulfilled strike actions in response.
