The three refineries have been under technical review since May 2025, following government directives to assess their operational and financial viability.

Ojulari expressed renewed determination to ensure that the facilities resume production sustainably.

“We are filled with determination! We are looking ahead with optimism to ensure our refineries operate effectively. We are dedicating significant time to a detailed review and are eager to implement our insights,” Ojulari stated.

He further stressed that NNPCL’s long-term vision prioritises national prosperity above individual interests.

“What fuels our drive is the understanding that the prosperity of the Nigerian states and the future success of Nigeria will always take precedence over any individual interests,” he added.

Ojulari assured that the company is creating sustainable solutions to ensure that the refineries begin full operations soon.

The refineries’ rehabilitation has remained a major focus of the Tinubu administration, as Nigeria seeks to reduce its dependence on imported petroleum products and strengthen domestic refining capacity.
