The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of petrol across its retail outlets as supply from the Dangote Refinery improves.

Checks on Saturday revealed that the state-owned oil firm slashed its petrol price from ₦955 to ₦945 per litre, marking a ₦10 reduction in response to easing supply pressure.

The adjustment follows a significant improvement in national fuel supply after a brief disruption at the Dangote Refinery that caused a spike in prices across the country two weeks ago.

Energy market analysts say the latest move by NNPCL may ease pressure on transport costs and consumer prices, especially in major urban centres.

However, observers have cautioned that fuel prices could rise again following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of a 15 per cent import tax on petrol and diesel, a policy expected to influence downstream market dynamics in the coming weeks.

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest, resumed consistent product distribution this week after resolving operational bottlenecks that disrupted nationwide supply.
