“We have answered this question several times. The Labour Party has consistently said that tickets will be determined at the party’s convention. Every candidate must emerge through a democratically convened process,” Ifoh said.

He also addressed reconciliation efforts with Obi and other dissatisfied stakeholders, noting that the party remains open to dialogue despite ongoing disagreements between Obi and the Julius Abure-led leadership.

“I must clarify that Obi’s position in the Labour Party is his own decision to make. Nobody can speak for him. Whether he remains in the Labour Party or joins another party is up to him,” Ifoh added.

The Labour Party’s stance reflects its determination to maintain fairness, transparency, and accountability in candidate selection ahead of the 2027 elections.
