No New COVID Death in Nigeria for 15 Days in a Row

For the 15th consecutive day, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC  on Saturday reported zero new COVID-19 related deaths.

According to the agency’s update for June 19, 2021, Nigeria recorded 51 new coronavirus cases in four states and the federal capital territory.

Lagos topped the list with 41 fresh infections, followed by Rivers with five new cases, and Gombe with three.

Other states that recorded new positive samples are FCT (1) and Akwa Ibom (1).

As at June 19, 2021 the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains unchanged at 2,177.

Also, 10 persons were discharged on Saturday after recovering from the virus, raising the country’s total number of recoveries to 163,550.

A total of 167,206 coronavirus cases have now been confirmed across the country.
