There will be no third-place play-off in Euro 2024.

On Tuesday night, Spain advanced to the final with a thrilling 2-1 win over France, marking Les Bleus’ last match of the tournament.

The other semifinal will see England face the Netherlands for a chance to play Spain in Sunday’s final.

Unlike the World Cup, the Euros do not have third-place matches, a practice that ended after 1980. The last third-place match saw Czechoslovakia win 9-8 on penalties against hosts Italy after a 1-1 draw.
