The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has directed all community orientation and mobilization officers in the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) to memorize the reintroduced national anthem by June 3.

According to the NOA, community officers are integral to the grassroots implementation of the new government policy.

It stated that the Agency is collaborating closely with the National Union of Teachers (NUT) to ensure the nationwide mobilization of schools to adopt the current national anthem.

Recall that it was announced on Wednesday that a bill reverting to the old national anthem was signed by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement, Paul Odenyi, NOA’s deputy director of press, quoted Lanre Issa-Onilu, the agency’s director-general, saying that the directive is part of the Organization’s efforts to facilitate a smooth transition to the new national anthem.

Issa-Onilu explained that the reintroduction of the old anthem is part of a national identity project aimed at fostering unity and instilling a sense of patriotism among the citizenry.
