Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo Accused Of Killing Mohbad | Daily Report Nigeria

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has vehemently denied accusations that she was involved in the death of Nigerian singer, Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Aloba), following the tragic incident earlier this year.

In an exclusive interview on the Glass House podcast with comedian AY, Ojo expressed her frustration over the false claims and clarified her role in the campaign for justice for the late music star.

According to Ojo, some people had insinuated that she might have played a role in Mohbad’s death, with others alleging that she was using the tragedy to chase clout and gain political influence.

“They were even insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad. I wasn’t around when Mohbad died. I was not close to him. I didn’t really know him that much,” Ojo explained.

“My encounter with him was during the One Africa music fest. For the few days that we were together, I just knew that he was a cool boy, had his own thing he was going through and doing his music.”

Ojo, who has been vocal in calling for an autopsy and investigation into Mohbad’s sudden passing, insisted that her intentions were purely to seek justice for the late star. She rebutted claims that she was motivated by personal gain or political ambitions.

“If I killed him, then why was I fighting for his body to be exhumed for autopsy?” she questioned.

“There was a time they said I was paid for my activism in getting justice for Mohbad. They also said I was looking for a political position. They even said I was using it for clout.”

Despite the criticism and disparaging remarks, the actress remained steadfast in her commitment to Mohbad’s memory, emphasizing that she was only trying to help uncover the truth.

“So many things have been said about me, but I am not bothered because that isn’t the case,” she said. “All I did was just to help seek justice for the late singer.”
