The Yoruba Nollywood industry is in mourning once again as they say goodbye to Sunday Ossai, a talented film practitioner.
Jide Kosoko, a veteran actor who had the privilege of working with Ossai, broke the news of his passing.
Kosoko acknowledged Ossai as the mastermind behind the groundbreaking indigenous reversal film in Nigeria.
In his tribute, Kosoko commended Ossai for his immense contributions to the industry and hailed him as a renowned creator of movie effects.
Ossai said:
“I mourn the passing away of a prolific film practitioner, Sunday Ossai. He was one of the firsts to join the Jide Kosoko Theatre Company in 1972. He was the brain behind the indigenous reversal film in Nigeria. A foremost movie effect maker… Ossai, you have done your bit. Rest in peace.”
Ossai’s death news followed the demise of actor Akeem Alamutu.
Alamutu passed away in the early hours of September 19, 2023.
