Nollywood actor and director, Charles Inojie, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of his colleague, John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu, stating that his demise is an irreparable loss to the Nigerian movie industry.
Inojie emphasized that Mr Ibu’s unique comedic talent was unmatched in Nollywood, noting that just having him in a film guaranteed its success.
During an interview with Channels TV, Inojie remarked, “There are times when you lose someone in the industry and you think, well, someone else will come along to fill the gap. But Mr Ibu is irreplaceable. He exuded humor in every fiber of his being.”

Mr Ibu, who passed away from cardiac arrest at the age of 62, leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished in the hearts of many.
“He is probably one of the few people in Africa that would sit without saying anything would communicate a million messages with his facial expressions, body language and gestures without verbalising just one word of dramatic dialogue. That doesn’t come cheap. We are going to miss that.
“You have John [Okafor], you have a blockbuster.”
