Nonsensical! Patrick Doyle Criticizes “I Am a Chosen” Phrase

Patrick Doyle

Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has spoken out against the popular phrase “I am a Chosen,” frequently used by members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries. His comments come amidst a social media debate surrounding the church’s viral testimonies.

In a Facebook post, Patrick Doyle criticized the phrase, calling it “nonsensical” and arguing that it has no basis in Christian doctrine. He expressed concern that the chant doesn’t reflect a focus on Jesus Christ.

“The phrase ‘I am a Chosen,’ used by members of the religious sect called ‘Chosen,’ should not be associated with the Body of Christ,” Doyle wrote. “When they chant this, their focus isn’t on Jesus, but rather on their General Overseer. The phrase neither mentions nor implies Jesus in any way.”

He added that suggesting the phrase gives glory to Jesus Christ is “a mockery of our faith,” and emphasized that bloggers and content creators using the phrase are not mocking Christianity, but rather the sect and its leader.
