The Northern Governors Forum wished former President Olusegun Obasanjo a happy 85th birthday.
In a statement on Saturday, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor of Plateau State and Chairman Northern Governor’s Forum, said that even at 85, President Obasanjo continues to offer wise counsel to leaders at all levels and participate in national dialogue aimed at addressing insecurity, poverty, disease, and intolerance.
While describing President Obasanjo as a nationalist and passionate leader whose patriotism is paramount, the statement also stated that the Northern Governors Forum values his fatherly advice and personal interventions in finding long-term solutions to insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in the Northern Region.

He stated that the former President has never hidden his belief in Nigeria’s unity, oneness, and indivisibility, and has thus continued to encourage the younger generation to be positive and avoid all actions that would undermine national unity, peace, and development.
The statement wished him many more years of good health and God’s protection, and urged him never to give up speaking out for a better Nigeria.
