Northern Nigeria should reclaim the presidency – Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, has revealed why the Presidency should return to Nigeria’s northern region.

Igbos should be given first refusal when it comes to electing Nigeria’s next president, according to Fani-Kayode.

Any idea of a southern presidency that does not give the Igbos first refusal is deceptive, he said.

Fani-Kayode said in a series of tweets that the North Central and Northeast regions of Nigeria have never produced a president.

“Any mention of a Southern Presidency that does not give the Igbo right of first refusal for the job is disingenuous,” Fani-Kayode stated. And if you say no to the Igbos, which both parties have obviously done, even if they don’t say it openly, I say return the presidency to the North!

“That is why I am backing a candidate from the north.” Before they can expect to be treated properly by others, Southerners must learn to be fair to one another.

“In the North, there are two zones that have yet to produce a democratically elected President.

“The NC has never done so, and the NE produced a Prime Minister 62 years ago who was slain before completing his term.” Is it fair to deny them, as well as the Igbo, who have never produced a democratically elected President?
