Nuno Espirito Santo, the manager of Nottingham Forest, has given an update on the fitness of Nigerian players Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi before their upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool.

Aina, who hasn’t played for Forest since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, is still recovering from an injury.

“Not sure. Let’s see tomorrow, some players are in the final part of their recovery. Ibrahim, Sangaré, is close,” Nuno Espírito Santo told reporters.

On Awoniyi he said: “He was important the previous game, he didn’t play 45 minutes, today he was able to finish the game.

“I think he’s doing better in terms of fitness. He was out for a long period so let’s see for the next one how he recovers, it’s going to be important.”
