NSCDC Rescues Abandoned Newborn in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) Zamfara State Command has disclosed its operatives rescued an abandoned newborn at Unguwar Yarima Gusau, the state capital on the 1st March 2022.

Mr. AA Sparks, the Corps Commandant, made it known that the child was discovered in a waste bin in the area by good-spirited Nigerians beside one Alkali Hadi’s house.

“The attention of the Corps was immediately drawn to the situation and the medical team of the Corps and the intelligence Departments swung into action by rescuing the baby from the dustbin”

Mr. Sparks said the baby at the time of rescue had no clothes on him.

He said: “I made sure that all the child needed before a proper handover to the orphanage home was provided”

“The baby was officially handed over to the Gusau Local Government sole Administrator and thereafter taken to the orphanage home under the monitor and supervision of the Corps”
