Corp members die on their way to camp

Five prospective corp members have reportedly died in a fatal accident that occured along the Abaji-Kwali Expressway in Abuja.

The tragic incident occured as the National Youth Service Corps members were on their way to a yet-to-be disclosed state for their camping exercise, in commemoration of their compulsory one year service to their fatherland.

The NYSC Director, on Press and Public Relations, Adenike Adeyemi, made the announcement on Wednesday, in a statement titled, ‘Black Wednesday for NYSC family.’

Adenike who mourned the deceased corp members on behalf of the NYSC scheme said;

“It is with deep sense of sorrow that the director-general, management and the entire NYSC family commiserate with the families of five prospective corps members that lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident around 2am today, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, along the Abaji/Kwali Expressway.

“The director-general and management also condole with the governments and people of Akwa-Ibom and Imo states over the tragic incident that has left the NYSC devastated.”
