The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the monthly stipend for corps members will be increased once the Federal Government implements the new minimum wage.

The NYSC Director General, Yusha’u Ahmed, made this known during his visit to Kebbi and Sokoto states to address the 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream two corps members at the orientation camps.

Ahmed emphasized the importance of corps members’ contributions to the country’s socio-economic development and encouraged them to use their service year to develop themselves and plan for a brighter future.

He also urged corps members to take advantage of the NYSC skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program.

The current monthly stipend for corps members is N33,000, but with the new minimum wage implementation, it is expected to increase.

The NYSC management has partnered with various organizations to provide loans and grants to corps members to support their entrepreneurial endeavors.
