Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has paid tribute to Professor Tunde Samuel, a former adviser to ex-Governor Bola Tinubu.
He described the late member of Tinubu’s Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) as a titan whose positive contributions should not be forgotten.
Samuel, a co-founder of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died on Wednesday night at the age of 73.

During a visit to the family on Thursday, Obasa stated that his departure would be difficult for the people of Agege, the APC, the GAC, and Lagos to bear.
“His significance cannot be overstated. He was a dedicated Lagosian whose thoughts, actions, and activities were all aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
“With his imprint in Lagos State, he helped Lagos establish a firm foundation for educational growth and progress as an academic.”
Obasa also referred to the deceased as a star whose brightness could not be dimmed.
The lawmaker prayed to God to grant him rest and to give his family, friends and associates the strength to carry on.
Samuel was a policy and political strategist for Tinubu, with whom he had a long friendship.
