The governor explained that his defection in April 2025 was aimed at aligning Delta State with the Federal Government to improve access to resources and enhance governance.
“We are happy with the decision we took because the policies and programmes of Mr President are working… it’s a gradual process,” he stated, acknowledging the economic challenges facing Nigerians.
Oborevwori noted that increased allocations to states have strengthened their ability to meet obligations.
“Before now, the money that was coming to the states was not much… these days, we can pay salaries, we can pay our contractors. A lot of things are working for us,” he said.

He also pointed to growing political support for the APC, revealing that the party now controls 31 states, a development he described as unprecedented since 1999.
“If Mr President is not doing well, my other brother governors will not come and join,” he added, expressing optimism that Nigerians would reward the administration with re-election in 2027.
On governance, the governor highlighted progress in infrastructure, health, education, and security, alongside improved oil production in the state.
“Delta State remains number one in oil production, and we are going to do more for our people,” he said.
Oborevwori urged residents to continue supporting both the Federal Government and his administration, assuring sustained efforts to improve living standards.
