Governor describes death as “huge loss” to Delta government and family
A senior aide to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Sunday Kotor, has died after collapsing at a private event.
Kotor, who served as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, reportedly slumped on Friday evening and was rushed to a medical facility, where he was later confirmed dead despite efforts to revive him.

Reacting, Governor Oborevwori described the incident as devastating, noting that the deceased played a key role in coordinating official state functions.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor paid tribute to Kotor’s dedication and long years of service.
“Late Sunday Kotor was wholly dedicated to his job. His passing is a huge loss, not only to his family but to the government and people of Delta State,” the statement read.
The governor also extended condolences to the family, especially the deceased’s younger brother, Conference Kotor, who is also part of the administration.
Kotor was a familiar figure at Government House, Asaba, where he anchored major events for over two decades, serving across administrations including those of Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ifeanyi Okowa.
