Odimodi community in Burutu local government area, Delta State, has sworn in a new set of executives to pilot its affairs.

The swearing ceremony of the new Executives led by Comr Solomon Gbegha, took place at the Eluwe hall in Odimodi, on Friday, June 30, 2022.

The process oath taking process was led by the Amaokosu-owei of the community, Pa Zimobou Brakeregha, who was represented by Chief Simon Alex Pukon.

The administration of oath by Chief Pukon was preceded by the dissolution of the Captain James I. Yangaboy-led cabinet.

In his charge to the new Executives, the Amaokosu-owei noted that the ceremony was inline with the practice of the people as enshrined in the constitution of the community.

According to Chief Pukon, the community runs a two-year tenure leadership system that terminates every June 30th of the the second year of an administration.

In his remark after being sworn-in, Comrade Gbegha noted that Odimodi community was one, saying his administration will prioritize sustainable peace and development.

Promising not to betray the confidence entrusted on him by his people, the Chairman said all aggrieved parties in the electoral process would be reconciled to foster peace and oneness in the community.

On his part, Chairman Burutu Council Area, Hon. Godknows Angele, charged the executives to ensure peace and harmony at all times, adding that development only thrives in a peaceful community.

The Comr. Solomon Ghegha-led cabinet has Oghobiriwei John Iyalagha as Secretary General, Amb. Dere Podoki – Public Relations Officer, Richard Ebiyadou – Asst Secretary, Parish Waregbamo – Fin. Sec. and Benard Kpedia as Treasurer.

Meanwhile, the inauguration ceremony of the new Executives is billed for July 9, 2022, at Odimodi.
