A police officer has reportedly sustained bullet wound following gunmen attack at Aguobu Owa Police Station in Enugu on Friday.
The officer was injured in the course of rebuffing the assailants’s attack by the officers at work.
Confirming the incidence, a witness said the gunmen who came in a black Toyota car attacked the station at 9am.

The gunmen however retreated in the face of the officers’ withering fire.

A police officer who sustained wound amid the shoot-out is receiving medical attention in a hospital at the time of report.
As revealed by a police source, several of the assailants also fled with severe bullet wounds.
ASP Daniel Ndukwe, Enugu Police Command’s spokesman thereby said that the police has begun investigation to reveal and apprehend the unknown perpetrators of such assault.
Ndukwe said:“They attempted to attack Ezeagu Police Division in the morning hours of today, 08/10/2021, but were resisted by Police Operatives on duty.”
“One policeman who sustained gunshot injury was rushed to the hospital and is responding to treatment and assured that“further development will be communicated.”
