In a strategic move, PSG utilized a “private” clause in Dembele’s contract to prevent his price from exceeding €50 million, a notable reduction from the original release clause of €100 million.

Dembele’s commitment to PSG is solidified with a five-year contract, ensuring his presence at Parc des Princes until at least the summer of 2028.

Barcelona originally signed Dembele from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, but his impact was hindered by injuries, limiting his appearances to 23 in the 2017-18 season.

Xavi with Dembele

Under the management of Xavi, Dembele experienced a resurgence during the 2022 season, showcasing his skills with 11 goals and 21 assists in his last two campaigns at Camp Nou.

Dembele departs Barcelona after an impressive record of 185 games and 62 goals, including three league titles, two Copas del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.

PSG's Dembele

Expressing his enthusiasm, Dembele shared, “I am thrilled to become a part of Paris Saint-Germain and eagerly anticipate representing my new club.

My goal is to continue evolving here and bring pride to all the fans.”
