Comrade Igetei wondered why Tidi who is thought to be an enlightened fellow, would put the peaceful coexistence of the Ijaws and Itsekiris in Warri on the line with his appointment.

In his words, “the relocation of Warri South West Local Government Area Headquarters from Ogbe-ijoh to Ogidegben and its attendant effect is still fresh in our memory. The peace loving people would not want such a scenario again.”

Continuing, he said; “was Tidi too young at that time or the weight of the office he is occupying is too big for him? Comrade Igetei wondered.

The foremost umbrella body of all Ijaw youths across the globe has advised the Delta state governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to hold Michael Tidi responsible if the peace in Warri is disrupted by Tidi’s clandestine appointment.

“The government of Delta state must hold Michael Tidi responsible if there is a disruption of law, order and peace in Warri over his self-centered appointment,” Igetei added.

Hon Michael Tidi has been under severe scrutiny, facing heavy backlash from various Ijaw groups since the announcement of his kinsman as Master of a market long known to be for Ogbe-Ijaw kingdom in Warri.

Warnings have been issued by the Ijaw groups in a situation that is gradually raising tension, threatening the peace long enjoyed by both tribes.

Comrade Igetei further urged the Warri South Local Government Council to prioritize the peaceful atmosphere in Warri, and reverse it’s decision for the sake of continuity of peace and harmony.
