The operatives of Ogun State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) have arrested no fewer than 30 suspected illegal migrants.

While parading the 30 young suspected illegal migrants in Abeokuta on Wednesday, NIS Comptroller in the state, Abosede Olayemisi, told journalists that the illegal migrants, who were Beninoise and Congolese, were also involved in defrauding fellow migrants.

She made it known that the suspects were apprehended in Abeokuta.

Olayemisi said the immigrants’ activities are capable of undermining national security, adding that they would be repatriated back to their countries of origin after due diligence.

According to her: “They are 30 in number and we apprehended them at their office where they gathered and doing illicit business, they are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.

“After taking money from them, they threw them to the street. The next thing is to repatriate them back to their home countries,”
