The Otun Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, who is next in line to ascend the throne, is reportedly out of the country but has been briefed about the development.

“We are expecting a former Governor of the State and the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to return home soon,” another palace official confirmed.

The Oyo State Government is yet to issue an official statement on the monarch’s demise, but preparations are reportedly underway for traditional rites.
